Okay before I say anything else yes I know it’s a high school musical song and yes I know it’s hella cheesy, but it fit so perfectly I just couldn’t resist okay anyhoooo moving on) hey hey, I’m Caitlin Naomi Sakamoto and I’m a-soon to be-college student who loves anything to do with fashion and photography (& gudetama too; if you don’t know who he is, trust me you’ll see a lot of him in my posts LOL). With fashion and photography being two of some of my favorite things, I thought a blog would be the perfect solution. And after experiencing Japan and their carefree “no f**ks given” type of attitude towards fashion-literally saw someone dressed up as a gorilla and no one said a word or even cared (in fact they cheered he/she on) it finally gave me that extra push that I needed to go and actually make my own blog. Welp, hope you enjoy this post as much as I did making it & stay tuned for future ones ^^
First day in Japan, and even though we’re all hella jet lagged and walked 10395 miles to our hotel- I rented in the middle of nowhere bc it was cheap and in our budget-we’re finally here and lemme just say, it is sooooo beautiful. I was in complete awe; and from that moment on, I knew I’d love it here.
The second that I found out that our hotel was near Shibuya, I just had to go and see the famous Hachiko statue ((backstory: it’s been on my bucket list since the second grade when I read the book and bawled my eyes out)). It was also kind of cute that so many people used the statue as a meeting spot for dates and even as a hangout for the elderly too.
Then ate some bomb af ramen that you order from a freakin vending machine (I was amazed for a good 5 min omg) while being right in the heart of Shibuya; and then grabbed my fave, LITERAL. FAVE. ice cream snack that’s only in Japan (10/10 recommend trying coolish if you happen to ever be in Japan) and a cute gudetama toy thing from the local “konbini” on the way to our hotel. Also figured out that our room had a remote controlled ac which is probably the best thing that a hotel could offer, and I dunno about you, but that’s a pretty great introduction to Japan if you ask me~
- Normally I’d list where everything in my outfit was from, but since my entire outfit (excluding the mask which was given by a friend) was literally all bought from AliExpress–basically like an Amazon except for clothes and other fashion related products– I just thought that I’d combine it into one mini paragraph to save your eyes some time from having to read repetitive stuff lol. And although their clothes can be either a complete hit or miss, lately I’ve been pretty satisfied with what I’ve bought so they’re definitely going up in the ranks for meee
